Why Katy's Barking Gecko ?!

I love to travel, I love to cook and to try new recipes...

After returning from yet another trip to South Africa I browsed one of my Food Magazin subscriptions and

we started to envision how it might be to have a small, a very small restaurant. Somewhere in Australia or

South Africa.
Maybe 4 or 5 tables.
To be in the kitchen wearing t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops cooking for fun and nice people....

Doesn't that sound great ?!
We even came up with a name: Katy's Barking Gecko

Well there is no restaurant (so far....), but heaps of favourite recipes.

Weekend Snapshot No. 18

Well I have been to Paris for a day yesterday....
Beside all the usual have-to-do-sightseeing highlights, it is always wonderful to find some of the hidden gems.
Like the Spice Shop of Madame and Monsieur Izrael in the Rue François-Miron close to the famous Place de Vosges.
Name a spice and you will find it there, the smell inside the little shop is simply awesome.
The term Spice Shop might be a bit misleading…
You find sacks full of nuts, baskets of dried fruits and grains, lentils, beans etc..
The shelves are full with bottles filled with oils, condiments, sauces, chutneys and spices from all over the world.

If you are in Paris, just save up some time to visit and have a look around.
